Frequently Asked Questions

The rep counter isn't counting my pushups. What should I do?

Make sure your phone is placed on the floor directly in front of you, screen facing you, and that both your hands/wrists and shoulders are clearly visible in the frame. The AI needs a clear view of your arm pose.

When the app shows "Get Ready", it's waiting to detect a valid push-up position. Once your arms are extended and your pose is confirmed, you'll see a start cue and counting begins.

Ensure you have adequate lighting so the camera can clearly see your body.

How do I post a video to the feed?

After recording your set, you'll see a preview screen with your video and rep count. Tap Post to Feed to share it publicly. You can optionally add a caption before posting.

Once posted, you'll be taken directly to the feed where your video will appear at the top.

How do I create or join a group?

Go to the Groups tab and tap the + button to create a new group. Once created, you'll see a shareable invite link and code — send these to anyone you want to challenge.

To join a group, tap the link icon in the Groups tab and enter the 8-character invite code, or open the invite link directly on your device.

Why isn't my video appearing on the feed?

Videos can take a few seconds to upload depending on your internet connection. Pull down to refresh the feed if your post doesn't appear immediately.

Make sure you completed the full posting flow by tapping Post to Feed on the preview screen. If the issue persists, check your internet connection and try again.

How does the weekly leaderboard work?

The leaderboard ranks users by their total rep count from the past 7 days. It resets on a rolling 7-day basis, so anyone can climb the rankings each week.

Switch between Global (everyone), Friends (people you follow), and Groups (groups competing against each other) using the scope picker at the top.

How do I delete my account and data?

To delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@pushupboard.app with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and we'll process it within 30 days.

This will permanently delete your profile, workout history, posted videos, and all other data associated with your account.

Can I turn off notifications?

Yes. Go to your iPhone's Settings → Notifications → PushupBoard and toggle notifications off. You can also control this per-app directly in your device settings.

Notifications are only sent as daily reminders when you're a member of at least one group. You won't receive any if you're not in a group.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password and enter your email address. You'll receive a reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.

If you signed up using Sign in with Apple or Google, you don't have a password — just use the same login method you used to create your account.
